Richmond, Va. (1140wrva.com) Governor McAuliffe is commuting the death sentence of a man who was scheduled for execution next week. Ivan Teleguz was convicted of ordering his ex-girlfriend's murder in Harrisonburg in 2001. The governor said that while the jury was correct in convicting Teleguz there were mistakes during the sentencing phase of the trial. Teleguz will spend the rest of his life in prison without parole.
